![]() Many can easily follow the trail of years in Scripture from Creation to the birth of Jacob. The dating of Jacob’s arrival in Egypt has been a major stumbling block for many Bible chronologies. Joseph’s birthday would be exactly 2200 years from the first January 1 – Tevet 12 in 4114 BC. Using the “Five Year + 1 Day Rule” would place Joseph’s birthday on January 1 – Tevet 12 in 1914 BC. ![]() Scripture is very clear that Joseph is 39 years old when Jacob arrives in the second year of the famine in Egypt and Canaan. When Jacob meets with Pharaoh, and tells him he is 130 Years old (Genesis 47:1-10), it is Wednesday January 9 – Tevet 20 in 1875 BC.
